NOT SO WORDLESS WEDNESDAY!!

Not so WW!! Hope you all are well, busy here, like it is everywhere! Count down till the end of school! We have some event every weekend, it's plum crazy!! Farrier came out yesterday afternoon to replace "Roo's" front shoe that he lost, so he could use him today day working. Well, he picked up the right front foot and he went down in the front end. Dang it! He checked his left front and he had a abscess~double dang! He has not even been limping! He got it open and draining, so that's a good thing. Gave him some bute last night and started Epsom salt soaks, as hubby has a pasture roping on Saturday he will need him for. So "Willis" earned him a trip day working today! Go "Wilis!!" Doing a horse demo at the school tomorrow for K & 1st grades Field Day. We are asked every year to do it and we love too! We love sharing the horses with the kids and teaching them about them as well. Hope you all are having a great week! Love ya'll!!

I hope Roo gets to feeling better soon. Those abscesses can seek up on ya sometimes. Hopefully it will heal fast being that he wasn't really hurting from it. And what a fun project to show the little kids all about horses!! A great idea!!

FOUND JACKET!!

Hello,
Thanks for this great blog, I enjoy reading about your horses!

I am trying to find the owner of a jacket that was left in a ladies' wear commercial booth at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo last year (2008). It is a black jacket with "Blackjack Trail Riders" on it. Other information is on it also. If you or someone you know own(s) it, please email me at "productuser AT lycos . com and provide further identifying info. I would love to see it go back to its rightful owner, as it has lots of sentimental value.

Thanks, hope you have a great day!

Gotta hate those abscesses!! Glad he found it before it got any worse. The soaks really help! So you're going to be a grandmother?! :o) Kind of young to be having those little four legged grandbabies running around aren't you?! Glad she is back home after her date! Will be looking forward to all the cute pictures in a couple of months!!!

Huh my horse did that the other day, I went to go pick up his front foot and he gave it to me then just kneeled down he did it twice then stood there fine for the rest of it. I was thinking it was because I had put the hobbles on him (for the first time) the day before. I've been riding him before and since then and he's fine... I'll double check everything though!
